To better implement Xi Jinping's thought on ecological civilization and meet the requirements of comprehensively promoting the construction of a beautiful China and accelerating the modernization of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, the School of Environmental Science and Engineering of Huazhong University of Science and Technology has held an overseas internship activity in Singapore.
On June 23, 2024, as the first rays of morning sunlight fell on the streets of Wuhan, 12 eager students majoring in Building Environment and Energy Engineering embarked on a five-day overseas internship and academic exchange activity in Singapore under the organization and leadership of teacher Tian Zhiyong. During the nearly five days of internship and practice from June 23 to 28, the students actively explored and continuously learned. They not only gained an in-depth understanding of Singapore's building energy conservation and environmental protection technologies and learned its advanced building technologies and concepts, but also gained more inspiration for their personal development and professional learning. At the same time, it improved the students' international vision and cross-cultural communication ability and enriched their own cultural literacy.
June 24: Exploration and Learning
Stepping in the morning sunlight, the students of the internship team went to the Sustainable Singapore Gallery full of enthusiasm for a visit and study. Here, not only are Singapore's innovative practices in sustainable development on display, but also it has inspired the students' thinking on environmental protection and urban planning.
The museum tour in the afternoon also gave the students an in-depth understanding of Singapore's history and architectural development. In the National Museum, the marks of history and modern display methods complement each other, making the students' understanding of Singapore, one of the "Four Little Dragons of Asia".
June 25: Inspiration from Green Energy

In the afternoon, led by the staff of G-ENERGY GLOBALL, the students visited the Luzerne factory and the SIA Training Center. Especially in the Luzerne factory, the students personally experienced the customized air conditioning system and had an intuitive understanding of Singapore's energy-saving technology.
June 26: Collision of Knowledge and Technology
In the morning, students stepped into the hall of the National University of Singapore and listened to the wonderful explanations of professors majoring in building environment in this university on energy-saving technologies and excellent cases. Subsequently, under the guidance of teaching assistants, everyone visited the SDE1-4 teaching building and witnessed the practical application of various energy-saving measures with their own eyes.
In the afternoon, this trip also included a visit to the National University of Singapore Museum. Not only did they learn about Singapore's history, culture and technological development, but they also experienced cutting-edge technologies such as machine inspection dogs and VR simulation technology in the 5G smart laboratory, greatly expanding the students' knowledge.
June 27: Harmony between Industry and Nature
The students went to the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Thermal Energy) of Nanyang Technological University for a visit and study, and felt the academic atmosphere and research strength of this famous institution in the field of thermal engineering. After that the students Led by an enthusiastic senior at Nanyang Technological University enjoyed the natural scenery of the campus and learned about the rich historical background of the school in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere
Along the way, the students of the internship team not only gained knowledge and experience, but also formed an indissoluble bond with this land of the Lion City. This overseas internship not only enriched the students' professional knowledge reserve and broadened their professional horizons. Visiting G-ENERGY GLOBALL Company and seeing its extreme efforts in air conditioning energy conservation made the students have more thoughts on professional development.
